Personal ESD protection equipment for your business

Electronics today are more exposed to ESD (electrostatic discharge) defilement than antique equipment. ESD fields are smaller than you can feel and you will never know when they start damaging your equipment. If you care and implement the information provided below, it will help you protect your equipment and investment. Here you find some guidelines and the personal ESD equipment important for your industry. After reading this blog you will be able to protect your workers and machinery from ESD.

Most of the manufacturing industries use ESD safe Nikko rack, grounding kits (heel grounder, shoe cover, strap, etc.), furniture, accessories and personal protection (booties, caps, gloves, shoes, slippers, etc.)

Personal protection equipment
Personal grounding:

Personal grounding kit includes, ESD Shoe Cover, Grounding Lead Kit, Heel Grounder, Non ESD Shoe Cover, Strap, Wrist Strap Cable, Wrist Strap Wireless and Wrist Straps. The straps must be worn around the wrist to make sure that it reduces the possibility of fatal shock or the occurrences of accidental contact with high voltage source, mains voltage, etc. Conductive shoe straps are also worn inside shoes that ensure safety while moving from one work station to another.

Protective garment or clothing:

Protective garments are made from ESD protective material and you can find the conductive threads woven into these clothes. Antistatic jackets, garment with round/v shaped collar & zipper are available in the market. These garments can be used in any industry or manufacturing business.

Work station:

Furniture and accessories, like antistatic warning tape, label, brushes, work benches, tweezers, bags, lights and chairs are used to avoid the electricity charge built up with the movement of the operator.

Mechanical and electrical damage
Apart from personal safety, ESD is also a hazard to the computer hardware, boards and drives. That is why most of the electronic manufacturing companies use Antistatic trolley, rack, etc. for the ESD assembly and storage area. Manufacturers used rigid card boxes to store the unused boards and drive to eliminate mechanical damage.
